Chevrolet to Add ZR2 Packages to Silverado HD Models

The Chevrolet Silverado is one of the top full-size pickup truck platforms in its class. If you bring the capabilities of the heavy-duty lineup into play, and Davis Chevrolet customers will have a nearly unbeatable pickup truck in their driveway. For the next model year, our manufacturing partner, Chevrolet, is bringing something new to the HD family, even more off-road capability. The long list of 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD ZR2 features will change the way people view the platform. “The Silverado HD ZR2 is for those who want it all: For when you need to haul equipment to the jobsite during the week, then the camper and family off the beaten path on the weekend,” said Sahar Nasif, program engineering manager, Silverado HD ZR2 said in a press release. “It’s for those who want their tow rig to be just as cool as the toys it’s hauling.”

What Comes With the 2024 Silverado HD ZR2?

Chevrolet didn’t have to start from scratch when they brought the ZR2 features and equipment to the heavy-duty Silverado lineup. The ZR2 package was previously introduced to Silverado 1500 customers recently, and the ZR2 Bison package was originally assigned to the midsize Colorado platform. Both the ZR2 and ZR2 Bison packages will exclusively be available with the 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with a crew cab. 

Some of the options Davis Chevrolet customers will have include:

  • 6.6-litre gasoline engine
  • 6.6-litre Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine
  • Specific front upper and lower control arms
  • Model-specific steering knuckles
  • Multimatic DSSV Dampers
  • Better transfer case protection
  • Front aluminum skid plate
  • Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires
  • Aluminum wheels

HD ZR2 Bison AEV Equipment

Chevrolet is also working with long-time aftermarket company AEV to provide the HD ZR2 Bison with a series of features that will set it apart from the other ZR2 package. This specialized equipment includes:

  • Package-exclusive gloss black, 18-inch AEV wheels
  • High-approach, stamped steel front bumpers
  • Integrated recovery points
  • Rear bumps with recovery points
  • Stamped steel skid plates
