How is the 2024 GMC Canyon AT4X AEV Edition Different?

GMC is already the top manufacturing name in premium pickup trucks in terms of performance, features and capability. More recently, the automaker has been focusing more on its midsize Canyon platform with the introduction of the off-road-ready AT4X platform. The GMC/AEV partnership will build on the inherent capability and refinement offered by the AT4X model, including enhanced suspension components and a factory-installed lift kit. “GMC is giving customers the ability to forge their own path within the premium off-roading space,” Duncan Aldred, Global vice president of Buick-GMC, said in a press release. “GMC Sierra LD and HD AT4X AEV Editions delivered what customers were looking for in the off-roading space, and now we’re applying that same formula to the next generation Canyon.”

Canyon AT4X vs. Canyon AT4X AEV

AEV is one of the top companies offering aftermarket parts and accessories geared toward outdoor enthusiasts. To be sure, the AT4X is a formidable off-road platform, but the addition of AEV gear will make the special edition Canyon all but untouchable in its class. Some of the features included with the 2024 GMC Canyon AT4X AEV Edition include:

  • 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT Tires
  • Available AEV in-bed vertical spare tire mount
  • 12.2-inch ground clearance with updated fascia elements
  • Wider track measurements
  • AEV stamped steel front & rear bumpers
  • Heavy-duty recovery hooks
  • Wench-capable bumper
  • AEV-branded badging & floor mats

Standard Advanced Traction Control

In addition to everything else that is included with the 2024 GMC Canyon AT4X Edition, the manufacturer has included an enhanced version of Baja Drive Mode. The new part is a launch control feature that helps the computer understand the road surface and automatically adjust engine speed and torque to improve future launches. Drivers can employ the Baja Drive Mode on rough terrain, using the accelerator and brake pedals for improved off-road acceleration.
