Chevrolet and Ford trucks have been rivals for nearly a century. For the current model year, a comparison between the 2025 Chevrolet Colorado vs. 2025 Ford Ranger continues that competition in a new area. Independent experts praised the current Colorado for its quick acceleration and strong towing scores, both of which outpace what is available from the Ford Ranger. Performance
Engine Menu
Every 2025 Chevrolet Colorado uses the same turbocharged 2.7-litre, four-cylinder engine, producing 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. Ford Ranger owners will get a similar engine platform, but it lacks the output of the Chevrolet truck.
Towing Capacity
Chevrolet Colorado owners are able to take full advantage of the truck’s performance. When the 2025 Colorado is properly equipped, it can tow 3,493 kg, nearly 100 kg more than the maximum towing capacity offered by the current Ranger model.
Design
Passenger-Friendly Interior
Both trucks have two rows of seats that can comfortably hold five people. The driver and front passenger in the 2025 Colorado have up to 1,148 mm of legroom, leaving 881 mm for those in the back seat. Ranger passengers have a bit less front legroom and very similar dimensions for rear passengers.
Useful Payload Capacity
At the end of the day all Chevrolet trucks are built to work. Several versions of the 2025 Colorado have a top payload capacity of nearly 930 kg. On the other side of the equation the Ford Ranger has a payload capacity of 764 kg.
