GMC and Toyota have taken two distinctly different paths for constructing their respective SUVs’ interiors. The 2026 Terrain employs upscale materials and upholstery across its trim ladder. RAV4 buyers will get a still pleasant interior, but its design values function over refinement. Additionally, the GMC Terrain offers more front legroom than its Toyota rival.

Because the 2026 GMC Terrain and Toyota RAV4 have very similar power plants and performance scores, the two SUVs also have very similar fuel economy scores, separated by just a few points. GMC Terrain drivers can expect it to return 9.9 L/100 km in the city and 8.5 L/100 km on the highway.
Technology
Connectivity Technology
GMC has long been a leader in connectivity technology, and that trend continues in the comparison between the Terrain and RAV4. The GMC SUV offers a standard 15-inch touchscreen that is compatible with Google products, thanks to Google Built-In. Toyota buyers will have some smartphone compatibility of its own, but it lacks the Google Built-in feature.
Available Camera System
The 2026 GMC Terrain can be equipped with up to eight exterior cameras. These various cameras can be combined to create a composite overhead image, perfect for navigating tight parking spots. Toyota RAV4 owners will only have the standard rear-view camera.
